From this corner of the far north - not much thinking is required.
I put my 17 year old daughter on the Savage to learn to ride last summer - she was doing all left hand turns when she decided to try a right and fell down in the soft sand at the edge of our road. Damaged ego and a broken mirror - pretty minimal.
The advice from this corner is buy what you want - mostly because my first love - my 89 Savage sits waiting for summer weather beside my '68 TC250 Suzuki and they are both great bikes - then there is an R90S on the other side- just for days when that kind of ride is required - total acquisition price for the three bikes - about $4600 - I admit that I bought the TC250 new in 68 so she has truely been faithful
The 250's are truely amazing and at times I have wondered why anyone would want more engine than that. However, rowing a 6 speed transmission to get 60 mph and winding up riding in 4th and having to ride in 2nd gear to climb the mountain roads at Sturgis convinced me that perhaps more was better.
For the dollar the Savage is a perfect example of the more is better. Great bike at a great price- easy to ride fun to have
My advice - just enjoy whatever you choose to ride because they are all truely amazing!
Keep the rubber side down
